Just today she was asking my opinion on just how weird is it to be 17, skip spontaneously, dance to the music in your head, and enjoy homework assignments, because you might as well.aderyn_du wrote:I think I would like your daughter, emmline.

I could just point out that I'm not the arbiter of what's weird, especially since I myself sometimes run behind my shopping cart in Giant, and sit on the floor far more than is "normal" when there are perfectly good seats available.

They say that Lilith was Adam's first wife (I still hold to the belief that Eve was his first wife). The only mention of Lilith we find in the Scriptures is in Isaiah 34:14, which in the Authorized Version is rendered "screech owl." Modern versions tend to translate it "night monster." J. N. Darby (founder of Dispensationalism), in his translation of 1890, rendered the verse, "And there shall the beasts of the desert meet with the jackals, and the wild goat shall cry to his fellow; the lilith also shall settle there, and find for herself a place of rest."Nanohedron wrote:Lilith ROCKS, man!

It's great just as it is: elegant, simple, and vague enough to to leave us wondering at your direction.Jerry Freeman wrote:Well, the first was for capitalization. Second for spelling. Third for punctuation. Fourth for syntax. I think I've finally got it the way I like it.
So, yes, why?
To answer re: Walden's comment: It's one of those things beyond comprehension.
To answer Weeks' question: Because. Just consider yourself lucky. Really.
Lilith appears in Jewish mysticism, I believe,
especially the Cabala. Sexual, mystical,
and zophtig. A bit Satanic, the sort who
appears to Hasidic rabbis in their
dreams and tries to lead them over
to the Dark Side. I went out with her once,
back in Brooklyn.
She reminded me too much of my
mother, unfortunately. She went off to Naropa Institute
in Boulder to study Talmudic Feng Shui.
She'll be happy in Berkeley.
P.S. It was a stroke of genuis to name
a female character on Cheers 'Lilith.'
Remember her? She's practicing psychotherapy in
Berkeley now, hoping to meet Weeks.
