I was just listening to Matt Malloy's rendition of this slow air in the "Stony Steps" album. I should say, that's the most beautiful air I've heard! I'm choking with emotion. Just beautiful!

Try also the version on "Music at Matt Molloy's" (the live pub recording). He obviously loves this tune.
I like playing this on high-D whistle, BTW.

Glauber - I just pulled out Malloy's Music At Matt Molloy's album and didn't see it listed. Is it published with another name that I missed?glauber wrote:Try also the version on "Music at Matt Molloy's" (the live pub recording). He obviously loves this tune.

I feel your pain, but this is probably a CD that any ITM enthusiast should have anyway. Money well spent.nashradus wrote:Here I go again.. off to buy another CD Thanks Glauber!
I LOVE when Matt overblows a note in that recording (a low E if i remember right, but don't quote me), in the second phrase of the tune, in one of the repeats. It gives a feeling that it's just bursting with uncontrollable emotion.
There's still another good version in the Celtic Harp CD. Matt isn't afraid of doing a tune over and over again when he likes it... another one he does a lot is The Mason's Apron.
