OT: In Loving Memory

Post by slowair »

This message board has proven itself to be a wonderful community of friends, almost like a family.

We kid each other, we argue, we care, we suffer together and share joy.

When I was going through my cancer, many of you wished me well and someone even helped me in ways she probably will never know.

I am faced again with sadness and just want to share. Last night, our Lucy left us. She died of a massive bacterial infection that could not be stopped.

She was one of the brightest parts of our day. Beautiful to see, a joy to watch. Playful and full of spirit.

Lucy, we love you and will remember you always.

Some time today, please play a happy tune in memory of our Lucy.

Thanks.

Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds!

May she find her happy spaying grounds.

Lucy was a red cap oranda goldfish.

She was also the source of months of joy.

And why the death of a goldfish can effect me this much is beyond me, but it sure has.

Grief is grief. Take a trip to http://www.rainbowbridge.co.uk/
And know you're not alone.<p>
I shall think of Lucy as I play something suitable tonight.

Ah, sorry to hear it Mike. . .remember her with fishy delight and only happy memories.

I send my sympathies. Just played Amazing Grace for your dear friend. I remember having goldfish, years ago. They do have their own personalities just as much as any other pet.

Mike,

Please accept my condolences on Lucy's passing.

I hope you all will not find it offensive if I add my own sorrows to this thread instead of starting another.

I also had to say goodbye yesterday to a beloved companion of a dozen all too short years. My Daisy, a yellow labrador, was euthanized early in the morning following what we can only guess to have been a stroke or cerebral hemorrhage in the night. In my fifty plus years of owning, showing and raising dogs, she was the sweetest, gentlest and most loving dog I have ever known and is terribly missed. Our only solace is that she was healthy and happy until only a few hours before the end and her passing was apparently without pain or distress.

Thanks for letting me say this.

Mike and Chuck:

Thanks for sharing the caring you feel for our friends we call pets. It touches me greatly to know that you care.

I'm sure we all grieve with you in your loss - and hope that time will heal your grief.

All my sympathy Mike. We just lost one of our ratties, Sammy to a dreadful respitory infection that got in the house somehow. He didn't last 48 hours. And now we will have to treat the other 5 for a month and hope they make it.

No matter how small, they touch our hearts and break them too. Ron and I share your grief. Ron still tears up if you even say Sammy's name and it has been three weeks....so don't feel silly about your tears and sadness.

Do you know about the Rainbow Bridge?? It might help you alot in dealing with your loss. Here is the link

http://rainbowsbridge.com

I'm sure your little loved one is swimming in happiness in a lovely pond at the bridge right now. Maybe she has even met our Sam, and Mary and Martha too. (our other two ratties who passed on last year)

love to you...............
