OT: In Memory, on a personal anniversary

Post by avanutria »

Today is the anniversary of a great loss in my life. I would like to share a poem written by the person who has gone.

That which we have made
We must leave
And every thought of yesterday
Brings a tear.

But the rolling tear is smiling
On its journey down the cheek
For it has been shed in the joy of loving
And the agony of leaving.

(((avanutria)))

My dear bro, bless his soul, whispered a wonderful line not long before his passing - "There is a sweetness at the closing of life's circle. That sweetness is love."- Stuart A. McUmber 3/12/1944-4/6/2002

May your memories of your friend's life long outlive the memories of (his? her? can't remember) passing. It's been almost two years now for me, and the tears are still quick, but I remember him fondly. My life was much better for having him in it. I hope I have the same effect on someone else's life.

Beth,

My heart goes out to you during this time when the memory of your loss is so strong in your heart.

Take strength and peace and wrap it around you like a blanket: no one is ever really gone when someone remembers them.

Smile, if you can, and remember.

Beth,
My heartfelt sympathy to you in your grief. Nothing in life prepares us for grief. But I truly believe that in experiencing it, each in our own way, we grow with the silent help of our departed loved one.

Tell us something.: Good to be home, many changes here, but C&F is still my home! I think about the "old" bunch here and hold you all in the light, I am so lucky to have you all in my life!

That's a beautiful poem, Beth.

I know beyond any doubt, with my whole heart and soul, that our loved ones are not gone forever...we will see and be with them again. That knowledge is a great comfort to me and has been even more so since I lost one of my sisters 8 years ago. My prayers are with you.

We can but hope that the bitterness of loss will merge with the sweetness of your love to become a fine wine in your memories.
