Shame it couldn't be Edinburgh. London is jimply too far away.
" jimply " - This is a scottish term I have not come across before?
Personally I would prefer out of London or any big city for that matter. I would go with Dale and see if Norman Dannatt can come up with a location. Where ever it is it won't be near me, Norfolk being on the road to nowhere. As far as attending a local session goes, I can't see any session being pleased at the arrival of a dozen or so whistlers. May tip the balence just a tad.
Definitely "gauge".
"Gage" old English for a token thrown down when challenging some one to a dual.

Why not Newcastle? Lively music scene. only 2 1/2 hours on the train from London (you wouldn't want to drive though) and there's more C&Fers in Newcastle than London (note: as of September, I will be in Newcastle).

Newcastle would certainly be easier than London for those of us in Scotland... I was going to suggest Dunkeld (as being the capital of the world, a great place to visit, and a great pub to play in)... for those with more exotic tastes!

How about Pembrokeshire?
What do you think, Sarah?
Jo.
I'm not Sarah, but not being Sarah I'm quite happy to opt for Worcester (or Birmingham) The "delightful" city is accessible to most of the UK much more easily than London after all. And even to those of us in Wales.

Well I am Sarah, but not being Trisha I think Pembs would be great - and Ceredigion even better - but probably no one would come because not many people know where it is never mind find their way here! Birmingham would be aweful from here. Travelling to London is easier because of the motorways. But as as you already know, I simply can't stand London (lived there too long!)

Dale, presumably you'll find it difficult to venture further than London?
Personally, I live in Birmingham, but likely to be working through the week in Aberdeen then. I'm tied up on Sat Nov 8th - Guy Fawkes night at our house. Want to come to a bonfire, Dale?
