OT -- Is your computer at home or at work?

Post by Zubivka »

Funny how posts get scarce during weekends or now for summer...

I just wondered if most of Chiffers weren't surfing mainly from their workplace, rather than from a personal (i.e. home) computer.

Hey, poll votes are anonymous, please answer in earnest

I suppose, those on school computers should count that as at work (though perhaps they're mostly off for the summer), but what about those who post from the public library, or Internet cafés, and the like? I first encountered the Internet at the public library.

Objection sustained!
I suppose these fit in the Transsiberian, which I offered as a Zoobicism for "Misc. places".

Oh, I just had to vote for the Trans-siberian one. (Well, it's not a downright lie, seeing as none of the others are accurate either.) I go online from anywhere I can; uni, friends' computers, Internet cafés etc. I most wisely do not have Internet access at home - would never ever have gotten anything done by then.

Mine would be considered home, because we have an office for the farm in our house. A computer in our barn wouldn't last too long (All the Poo, you know), though there are farms that have computers in the barns.

Cheers,
Kathy :)

I didn't answer either, as I post equally from work and home. . .but given half the chance I'd do it from the Trans-Siberian. . .as I am in fact Siberian

I can only say "both." The computer's at home, but I'm a full-time housewife and mom, so this IS my place of employment!

Work and home. At work we have the fastest lines available, great for downloading, chat etc. At home, I just have a dial-up line for email basically. And the fact that I sit in front a terminal at work all day; means that I won't spend precious time in front of one at home.

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

I play at work and work at home? Do I have that backwards?

Anyway I spend about equal time here from both places. Probably TOO much time......

My compy's at home. I have no computers at work. Unless you count the cash registers as some sort of prehistoric predecessor to the computer....

Both and more: wherever I take the laptop and find a free ethernet cable (i.e. mostly friends' places). So I voted for the Transsibirian Conductor as a potential friend.
