For Sale: Silkstone Alloy Soprano D Whistle

Post by Loren »

I am forced to part with a virtually mint condition Silkstone Alloy D Soprano whistle. The Whistle Shop sells these for $130 plus shipping, I'm asking $100 plus shipping for mine, and would prefer a buyer who can pay using PayPal.

If interested send me a PM.

Thanks,

Loren

I can vouch for the fact that this is a very good whistle. Silkstone alloy whistles are underrated.

Loren, Say it Ain't So! I remember how glowing your review of this whistle was. I got one based on it and think it's one of the finest metal whistles out there.

Best, Charlie

Yes, I'm afraid it's so Charlie: I have to sell this whistle, which is sad because the instrument was a gift from someone close to me. However, one has to do what is necessary to survive.......

I think all Silkstone whistles are underrated.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Paul Hayward is a wizard with a lathe.
I have never understood why his whistles don't get much more positive feedback from members of this community than they do... they really are very good.
Somebody will get a real deal if they take Loren up on his offer!
Regards,
Gary Humphrey

Great whistles - even if my D plus alloy does make the glass rattle at a certain pitch...

Paul made me the first narrowbore D+ at my request...great practise whistle if a little weak at the low end (which he pointed out).

Geeze, I can't belive how hard it is to sell instruments these days - even after all the positive feedback (thanks everyone) I haven't had a single response :(

So much for economic recovery here in the U.S.

The economy has gone to Hell. I'm moving soon and I'm so afraid I'm not going to be able to find work in this economy.

Every whistle I've had up for sale the last few weeks has went in just a few minutes or so. Of course, I sold them for peanuts. But that's ok, cause I'm an elephant.

Man, Loren, I'd be all over it, but I'm in the middle of trying to buy a house. That's taking most of my financial resources at the moment. Couldn't you just decide to hold onto it and sell it in a few months????

Steven,

Hey that's great about the house, congrats!

As for holding onto the whistle for a few months and then selling.....Hopefully I won't need money so badly in a few months, in which case I wouldn't put it up for sale! Funny how these things work, ironical, ain't it? (Buggs Bunny speak there) :P

Loren
P.S. The whistle is still available, BTW.

But it's good to see you around, Loren.

Best of luck, Adrian
