totally OT: Time to elect a new world leader!!

Post by TelegramSam »

OKAY! POLLS ARE CLOSED!

Since everyone wants to cheat and look up the answers, I'm posting them

a TIE between Candidates A & B with 14 votes each and in 3rd Candidate C with 10 votes.

Congradulations: Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill are your new world leaders.

Adolf Hitler gets to go back to his corner in hell. Better luck next time, chump. And if you voted for him, I hope you learned your lessons: Never listen to what the media has to say about political candidates, and if something seems too good to be true, it probably is!!!

---------------------------------

It is time to elect a new world leader, and only chiffboard members' vote counts.
Here are the facts about the three leading candidates.

Candidate A -
Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologers.
He's had two Mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10
martinis a day.

Candidate B -
He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in
college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C -
He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke,
drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.

Cast your vote! In 5 days I'll announce the winner and whom you have elected as your new world leader!

How do you use the poll? It won't let me click anything to vote! Errgh.

Well, if I can't vote than I'll choose C! No meat is the way to go!

[EDIT] Now it will let me vote - apparently I had to sign in first before it gave the choice to vote.

[cynic mode on]

Candidate C sounds like a good and decent person, and as such, wouldn't survive in politics. He would quickly become a puppit of extremists on either the extreme Right, the far Left, or both, and would be remembered by history as a singulaly innefective, brutal, and unjust leader.

Candidate B would never be elected...the thing about the opium in college would come out during the election and he would be forced to withdraw in shame, even though the rest of his record is probably in his favor.

Thus, by the process of elimination, Candidate A is the only way to vote--a vote any other way is a wasted vote, and a vote is a terrible thing to waste. Besides, he's already got the political associations necessary to get things done in politics.

I just wanted to say that I LOVE your avatar!

I have been studying a lot of astronomical photos as I have a love for astronomy and I'm just amazed at the wonder of the Universe.

Your avatar is really cool!

I’m a bit confused. You describe Candidate A as someone who associates with crooked politicians. “Politician” and “Crooked” are redundant: the former automatically implies the later. Therefore, since he himself is a politician, he doesn’t just associate with crooks, he is one.

Candidates A and C seem to be the exact same individual. A is what he actually does and C is what he admits to in public.

I can’t choose. If he wants the office, he can’t be trusted to hold it.

Since candidate B seems to be none other than myself, it would be improper for me to vote for anyone else.

Be advised, any who may wish to vote for me, that, if nominated, I will not run, and if elected, I will not serve.

Thank you! :)

That's the Andromeda galaxy, I believe.

I can look at astronomical photos for hours, just becoming lost in the beautiful immensity of it all. I can't grasp how big a galaxy is.

I can wrap my head around how big a planet is. I can sort of get ahold of how big a star is, and maybe a solar system. Then I try to reach up a few billion orders of magnitude, and my head explodes a long time before I get to how big a galaxy is.

I hate it when that happens. :D

But which one is Dale?

I'm leaning toward Candidate B, because I think it's Mr. Syn.

Hmmm...I think I know who candidate C is (and if I'm right, that thing about him being a vegetarian is an urban legend...or more correctly, a common, though inaccurate, belief), but I'll hold my tongue until the answer is revealed ;)

I voted for candidate A.
