Generation seems to be breaking in a new ...
... decal applying person.
I got a shipment of whistles today. One of the brass Bb's has no decal at all. Many of the other whistles have the decal placed higher up on the tube than I've seen over a number of years.
This means I have to place the "Jerry Freeman Tweaked" sticker BELOW the Generation decal on some of the whistles.
Sometimes the stress level of this job is almost more than I can take.
Best wishes,
Jerry

Oops, I was testing my new industrial computer virus.
It's based on Stuxnet, but for sticker application robots
instead of centrifuges.
Anyone who uses the StickerBot 3004 is susceptible.
It's mostly because I'm sick of peeling the stickers
off my apples, whistles are just collateral damage.
Sorry about that.

Sorry. I wrote hastily in my distress over this disaster.
You are correct. I should have written:
"Generation seems to be breaking in a new decal applying ELF."
Thank you for catching that, and I apologize for any confusion I may have caused.
Best wishes
Jerry

Ya know, "decal" is not a word that one hears in the UK. Which means that, every time I do hear it, or read it, I automatically think of Captain Beefheart.

interesting...benhall.1 wrote:"decal" is not a word that one hears in the UK.
For me anyhow, anything which you peel off and stick on something is a "sticker".
A "decal" is like the things that used to come with plastic model kits of airplanes, that you soak in water before applying. In Britain, are these called "stickers" or "transfers" or what?
BTW I just looked up "decal" in a dictionary and disovered that it's short for decalcomania, which is the tranferring of a prepared design onto glass, wood, etc. Who knew?

My British opinion:
If it has a sticky back its a sticker, if it hasn't its a transfer (So Airfix models would be transfers)
Decal isn't a word I hear much either, except in car brochures, when they try to dub a new term for 'go faster stripes'
