Vincent Broderick, The Turoe Stone, Vol 1
I know its a long shot but does anyone have a cassette/cd recording of the tunes on Vincent Broderick's, The Turoe Stone collection, Vol 1 or where I can get my hands on a recording? I know Vol 2 came with a CD but not sure about Vol 1? Cheers, Enda.

The book didn't come with a CD/tape when I bought it (which is a long time ago). Maybe something was available separately but it wasn't standard issue with the book anyway.

- Tell us something.: It is a beautiful day in the piedmont for playing a favorite boxwood simple-system flute. Is that enough typing to get to 100 characters?? Maybe not, just to make sure here is a bit more stuff from the keyboard ...

That was more than fifteen years, just for some perspective.(which is a long time ago)
anyhow, I know there is a Turoe Stone recording that was issued by Comhaltas but I don't think it's connected to the book (which was published by Walton's).

I have the "Turoe Stone" cassette with the tunes from vol. 1 which I bought with the book from Ossian in Cork some years ago. Not sure where it is just now, the cassette that is. I'll give a shout if a find it

Hello
I just had a look at my copy of the cassette. The tape was issued by CCE and they call it a companion to the book of the same name. There are 68 tunes in the book and only 32 on the cassette. The tunes are played in sets and the musicians are;
Vincent - Flute
Lawrence (son) - flute
Des (son) - fiddle
Antoin MacGabhann - fiddle
Eddie Kelly - piano
Keep well
