Liney Bear - Casadh an Tsugain

Post by Liney Bear »

Wow, this has been a very hard week for me. Lost my good buddy to kidney failure. I had to memorialize him in some way, so I put together this little slide show. ITM content: The music, Casadh an Tsugain, was recorded by myself on my Olwell C flute and my friend Zac Leger, who did the guitar work.

best,
Gordon

Tell us something.: I play fiddle, concertina, flute. I live in NH. Lived in Kilshanny, Co Clare, for about 20 years. Politically on the far left. Diet on the far right (plant-based fundamentalist). Musically in the middle of the pure drop.

Lovely job of memorializing.

Can empathize with your loss. Had to let my 12 yr old dog go on Monday due to kidney failure and other complications from rampant cancerous tumors growing in his liver, spleen and stomach. It is tough to loose good friends so unexpectedly. The house feels empty without him. He was the only one in the family who would come in and sit with me while I practice (still not sure how to take that...).

Also, my brother and ex-sister-in-law used to breed Bengals. They certainly are amazing cats. One that my brother still has as a pet is so vocal that her singing is loud enough to interfere with our phone calls. Another one, a male, plays fetch better than my dog ever did.

Sorry for your loss

Lovely, Gordon. I think your moggy couldn't have picked more loving people to spend this life with. Peace to you all.

The look of contentment on Linus' face says it all.
Lovely tune.

Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.
