The last post - a poem by Stick
There is a place
sombre and tangled
it is the graveyard of souls
Here they come to heap themselves
tangle upon tangle of last moments
dead jungle
it is called by them as they heap:
as they aproach most call it heaven .. the final rest
few call it hell
this place is called Earth: all that live and all that died
dirt and the ancient beneath beyond memory of dirt itself:
Dirt upon dirt upon dirt and then the fire upon fire beyond remembering of souls.
Walk alive, in respect or disdain
But tread none the less
Stomp or tiptoe
The dead appreciate those alive.
Reverence will go well for those souls now dead
and yet to be
sombre and tangled
it is the graveyard of souls
Here they come to heap themselves
tangle upon tangle of last moments
dead jungle
it is called by them as they heap:
as they aproach most call it heaven .. the final rest
few call it hell
this place is called Earth: all that live and all that died
dirt and the ancient beneath beyond memory of dirt itself:
Dirt upon dirt upon dirt and then the fire upon fire beyond remembering of souls.
Walk alive, in respect or disdain
But tread none the less
Stomp or tiptoe
The dead appreciate those alive.
Reverence will go well for those souls now dead
and yet to be

Wood warms you twice, once when you're killing it and again when you burn it.

Stick is frequently in the mud, nothing really to worry about.BeansTasteFine wrote:Ahhh, please don't be a stick in the mud!

Maybe his poem is in reference to All Hallow's Eve? The day when the Veil is thinnest and those that have passed beyond walk more closely with us...

This is a quote by John Taylor that I write in sympathy cards.
“While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil.”

Re: The last post - a poem by Stick
I'm afraid it's nothing so very wrenchingly final as would call for damp-eyed condolences and platitudes; after all, we don't mourn the ermine's winter coat when confronted with its summer aspect. I might also point out that neither does the ermine send out poetic announcements about such changes, and there the analogy ends. But do carry on in this vein if you're so inspired - at most it's passably entertaining faux-funereal Theater of the Absurd, and at least it gives us a bit of practice for the real thing.

- Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

You might think this is appropriate but let's remember up here in the northern hemisphere we're headed into winter so there'll be plenty of ice. We could keep Stick around awhile yet even though he be daid. Plus freeze drying has really come a long way, why I have seen whole people freeze dried who looked like they was still breathing, the trick of course is getting high quality human glass eyes not those cheap fish eyes they sell at the local taxidermy shop.benhall.1 wrote:Poor Stick is dead

Re: The last post - a poem by Stick
Stick is not dead. He has simply finished his work.
I imagine he will spend some time in his cabana toasting in pina coladas laced with furniture polish (his goons' favourite prank.)
All will laugh, all will celebrate victories behind the scenes smoking cigarrettes and caring nothing for tomorrow .. because yesterday is done and tomorrow will be as well done as today.
Toast O goons!
Be merry!
Your contract is not done - and neither is Stick
Another day arises - and new work is afoot with each new sun!
