If you're not squeamish, here's the video of the actual surgery on my actual undisputed eye.

My mother had her last cataract removed a year ago, even with her macular degeneration her vision in that eye is now 20/40 which isn't bad at 96 yrs old. She does have to get an injection in each eye every few months to slow down the macular degeneration, that's never a pleasant idea but it has never hurt either.

Thanks for asking. I'm most happy with my crystal-clear new acrylic lens implant. It's providing very good distance vision and, as people often say, I quickly learned how much my vision had grown a bit murky and yellowish. Colors are indeed brighter for me than they've been in some time.

The issue now is I have a bright and sharp vision in my left eye and murky vision in my right. But, the cataract isn't ripe enough to qualify for surgery yet. So, without my glasses, I have great vision on the left and poor vision on the right. If I put my glasses on, my right eye is corrected considerably, of course, but my left eye vision is blurry because of the unneeded eyeglass lens. (And, yes, I know I could remove the left lens.) In 2 weeks, i get fitted for new glasses, which should give me some balance. Then, when I eventually get the right eye done, I'll likely be able to get by with reading glasses only.

Well, I think we all know the answer to that:

I'll be having this done in the next year or two. I watched a cataract surgery thirty years ago when I was in nursing school and it was much more invasive and traumatic than your video, Dale, because the lenses they used then were rigid and required a larger incision and more sutures. My wife had both eyes done last year and she's very happy she did.
