Water Weasel C on e-bay

Post by Steve Bliven »

Here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Authentic-Thin-Weas ... 43a5d5a86c

Caveat: I don't know the seller nor do I have any involvement with the sale. It was originally posted as "for parts or not working" so I sent a query. The seller replied that he is new to e-bay and had meant to indicate used, although "it's like brand new", rather than "for parts". I notice that it has been re-listed as "used".

Best wishes.

Thanks Steve. I had hoped this one would go past quietly. So would everybody please just bid on the Susato, Sweetheart or Overton F the same seller has for sale. Thank you. :)

I have also been in contact with the seller. I do not believe it is a C whistle. It's in a key no one uses. :)

Of course, that's what I meant to say — thanks for the correction...Image

The C's were whitish PVC. I seem to recall F being in that gray PVC, maybe Bb but I don't own them. Oh, I have a G in white too.
Great whistles.

My Bflat and A are in grey. They're the two finest non-wood whistles I own.

I questioned the seller and just got a reply and he says that it is a Low F.

Nope! The seller really hasn't got a handle on things. He thinks his Yamaha 300 recorder is in the key of B. The B embossed on the recorder is for "baroque fingering". The Weasel is a Bb not a low F from what I have gotten from him. The low F's were made from the ivory colored 3/4" CTS CPVC pipe not from the grey electrical conduit this one is fashioned from.

Now would you all just pay attention to the seller's African blackwood Sweetheart high D. Please!

Why's that, Walden? I thought the Weasels were good values in their day.

Quote( Now would you all just pay attention to the seller's African blackwood Sweetheart high D. Please!) Unquote.

Give me a break too, I'm bidding on that one! The one listed as African wood that ends today, not the African Blackwood that ends in six days. I'm the bidder with the 1354 feedback just so you know that I'm not bidding on the Water Weasel. :)

I sold a gray bflat weasel sometime back - one of the few whistles I wish I had kept. All of the water weasels i've owned were very nice, but the bflat was exceptional. if this one is that good, someone will have a keeper!

So, it went for $102.51

Anyone here get it? Anxious to hear what key it turns out to be.

Best wishes.

me neither, though I was tempted.

It's fat, gray, and from the length from the upper hole to the blade I'd have bought it expecting a bflat.
