I wonder how many Indian English peculiarities there are. I recently learned of a handy numerical word, "Lakh", when a coworker used it casually as if everyone knew what it meant.
) ever was, but I'm struck by how the distinction is on a completely different level; with the seemingly endless other stuff it can do for my convenience, even at my comparatively limited amount of use it has me relying on it as a go-to resource like never before, and so I keep thinking of mine in terms of the word "vademecum". I might start dusting off that nowadays-forgotten word, since it fits so perfectly.
