Whistles Distributed to Iraqi Children

Greetings all–Glenn Tolle here, and I’m writing this from Mosul, Iraq.

I’ve received a donation of several tin whistles, harmonicas, ocarinas, and stuffed animals, and am actively handing these gifts out to the Kurdish and Iraqi kids in the course of Civil Affairs duty here in Northern Iraq.

I’m capturing these adventures, complete with all the latest pictures, at http://www.zen_fiddler.blogspot.com.

Friends who read Chiff and Fipple noticed that I was engaged in this “Music for Iraq” initiative, and sent a box of whistles from Germany. That was really generous, and my sincere thanks to them and everyone else who have sent music for the kids.

As Paddy Moloney said, “If we could get the world leaders to learn tin whistle, we might have peace!” (or something very close to that)

Take care,
Glenn

I shall whistle a tune and dedicate it to peace.

Wow! :astonished:
That’s fantastic! It’s amazing what a whistle can do! I’m so happy I learned it…if not I’d still have a bad temper! :stuck_out_tongue:
