there are 2 sound clips
$975 for a practice set, $2,400 for a half set and $3,900 for a full set. Not very expensive.
Quite cheap items comparing to top makers products,… how is the quality and deliverytime?
Screw the pipes…The napkin rings are an absolute steal…
It looks to me like this is one pipemaker who is actually interested in making something vaguely resembling a profit…Judas!
have you ever tried one of them? his pipes are good
I’ve been playing a set of Michael’s pipes since December '05.
His workmanship is superb—they look and play great—but his customer service might be even better. He’s made several backup reeds for me free-of-charge. And when I told him recently the airpipe between my bag and bellows was a little too short, he was going to send me a new piece of rubber tubing (from Ireland!) until I convinced him that I didn’t mind going to Home Depot and saving him the shipping expense.
He lives in Galway but makes frequent trip to the States so you can expect to get face-time with him after purchasing a set of his pipes. Anytime I send him e-mails with questions, I typically hear back within 24 hours. And his waitlist is reasonable in case you don’t feel like waiting 2 years for your set. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
I’ve been playing a set of Michael’s pipes since '94..his pipes are super
I took some photos of my Michael Vignoles half-set this evening and had my wife take one of me playing them.

I just got his new CD in the mail on Saturday. Uilleann pipes and pipe organ. It works! Nice combination. Neat concept if you like religious music and piping. All classical and church music. Altogether lovely! Nice new website too.
Jason, our half-sets could be sisters! You saw mine in Atlanta this year. I got my practice set from him in 2004 and he hand-delivered the drones a year later. Quality and workmanship are great and service is superb. The time he was over and delivered your practice set, he stopped by for a visit and after making a few reeds, he had an extra chanter he’d just made and left it with me as a loaner in case anyone wanted to try their hand at pipes we’d have one here for them! Unheard of…

Nice guy. Good business sense.
I have reeded a couple of his newer chanters, and found them easy to reed and sweet in the tone.
There are those who are generous with their time and their work, and this I feel, is a great way of promoting the instrument and ensuring its prosperity. Good on you Mr. Vignoles and all who are cut of the same cloth.
I met up with Micheal earlier this year in Dallas and his set had regulators like the one’s Kirk Lynch is making now… Large Taylor style keys.. Tis was very nice… Seth
Micheal vignoles makes an unbelievable Quality instrument.I own and play a Eugene lamb half set and have played other makers chanters and was always on the lookout for my next investment.I actually played a few sessions in Atlanta georgia around with mike around 1996 and at the time would have bought one of his chanters then but I had just recently purchased a set from Egene Lamb and I was relitvely new to piping.I had the opportunity to run into him again in cincinnati in 2005 at a bodhran
workshop.Although he had already done a reedmaking workshop the
day before when I mentioned that I had been making my own reeds,
he immediatly started another reedmaking workshop and shared some
great ideas and tips.I ran into him again in Dublin Ohio in 2006 at the
Dublin Irish fest where once again he put down everything he was doing to
share some new Ideas on reedmaking.I had the opportunity to try out
his chanter on my set and Immediatly I was very impressed. The tone was superb and was in excellent tune in both Octaves. This was the chanter I,ve been looking to add and wasted no time in ordering a D chanter with a C# key.In fact I told him I wanted an exact replica of his
own personal chanter. His turnaround time is very good and anytime I,ve emailed him about anything I get a response within 24 hrs wheater he,s stateside or in Ireland.Someone that is new to uilleann piping could do no
wrong in ordering their first set from Mr Vignoles as his Pipes are of high
quality and are a great buy and frankly I dont think he charges enough for his Instruments
