Up and Coming Posters

While some of us were following Avanutria in her run to pass Loren for the top poster spot, some interesting things have been happenning in the background.

Several of our newer board members have really hit the ground running and would seem to be serious contenders for the top spot in a year’s time.

Now many things can happen during the course of a year, but take a look at these statistics.

Loren has averaged 23 posts a week since the board was moved to the current location. Extrapolating from that, he would have a total of 2625 posts one year from now.

Beth (Avanutria) has averaged 26 posts a week since joining us. At that rate, she will pass the 2900 post mark by this time next year.

Walden should be right there with Beth. His powerful average is 38 posts a week, which has helped make up for his late start. He’s headed for the 2850 mark at this rate.

Bloomfield is not as aggressive as he needs to be to stay in this game. He’s only posting 23 a week, and will barely make 2400 posts by next year.

Weekenders posts a nice high average of 27 a week. That will put his total at around 2200 posts in one year.

Serpent posts an average of 17 times a week; it just seems like more . He’ll barely be breaking 1000 posts a year from now, and 333 of those will be apologies for previous posts.

Blackhawk posts a respectable 26 times a week. He should have 1950 posts by this time next year, but he’s been slowing down lately. We’ll have to take another look next month.

Wombat is the most single minded new entrant in the posting game. He has averaged a whopping 53 posts a week since joining the board. That’s more than twice the rate of our current leader, and the fastest posting rate ever witnessed on C&F! At this rate, he will be in second place, with 2866 posts, in one year’s time. He could take over the top spot very shortly after that.

I’d like to congratulate all of our compulsives, er, I mean COMPETITORS, on their fine work.

 ROFL!

I could never have made it this far without my session mates, and all the newbies who post questions! And of course the many thread-based conversations I get pulled into.

And if I win the title…I’m gonna go to Disney Donegal!

You see, this is how Beth stays on top: it’s 1:30 am on a Monday and she’s lurking the board. I think she’s also sponsored by

How 'bout it Beth? Are you endorsing any caffeine based drinks?

I tell you what.

What?

No, time zones - it’s 11:30 PM here and I am in the chat room!

About to go to bed, though.

You think this is bad - wait till I get back to NY, am still on Mountain time, and don’t have class till 10 AM!

PS - I don’t drink coffee, soda, anything like that…I’m naturally a night owl. I do like the occasional donut though.

I feel like such a lamer. I’m flagging with a mere 14 a week. What have I been playing at?

Maybe I’d better start joining in with all the multiple times in a single thread posters?

Or maybe not, that’s just be silly.

That’s frightening. But two factors can make the stayers rest easy—if they rest at all. I have been watching this board on and off for about a year so I probably had a few things saved up. Also, I should have a new house bought and moved into soon—I hope—so I’ll have less need for displacement activities. Oops, that’s another post.

I’m glad my numbers are low. It proves that I spend more time playing the whistle and less time playing a lamer on the board.

…unless of course the theory, held by several so-called lamers  on the board is correct, and that masked Dude

is actually a frequent poster incognito.

Of course, Beth’s run for the roses may simply prove that college students don’t REALLY have to work as hard as they say they do…

Wombat’ll cool off. Spring’s coming ‘down under’ and he can get back to the beach.

Chuck, I’ll be sending you some homework…

–Beth (on internship right now, so there!)

Edit - See?? This is what happens! I have to defend myself against blows like Chuck’s! But hey, at least I make full use of the Edit command, which does NOT add another post to my total!

Oh! Hey, gang, I really, sincerely apologize for not posting more. I know it’s expected, and, look, I know some of you are highly disappointed that you haven’t heard more from me, but, well, apologizing to Loren has been taking up a lot of my time of late. What can I say? Oh, and I’m sorry I didn’t have any bloodwood to try my “fix” for cold weather out on. I know you were sadly aware of my failing. And those of you who were intending to blast me for mentioning my website, well, once again, I must say that I’m really and sincerely sorry that I haven’t given you that particular bit of grist, but hey, when I’m falling down on the job so much here, well, it’s all I can do to try to apologize for everything else!
Sorry, sorry, sorry! I know I’ve failed in so many ways to meet all of your high standards for multiple-post breast-beating… :frowning:

Sorry,
Bill Whedon

Where do you guys find the post rankings?

Click on memberslist, over by the search button, and then click on the column heading “posts” to sort it by number of posts.

Well, I am slowing down. I don’t like posting when it’s not funny, and at the moment I feel like there is no way I could post anything remotely as funny as Serp’s or Loren’s posts. And it’s not fair, either, because Loren isn’t even trying to be funny. (He’s probably better looking than I am, too.)

They’ve all got their strong points:

Serpent - thickness of hide, persistance, curiousity, resiliance.

Wombat - sheer manic energy.

Beth - pure sweetness.

Loren - brutal honesty, keen observation.

Walden - wittiest dude around. His hurmor really appeals to my highbrow sensibilities.

Now if you’ll excuse me, the Chinese food delivery man is here with my Great Dane Lo Mein (obscure chat reference).

Now jim, if we were all whistles, what would we be?
