Shipping pipes from the U.K. to the U.S.A.

Ive a set of pipes on ebay at the moment and all enquires ive had for them come from either the usa or canada. Parcelforce charge £75 shipping with £700 insurance. Does anyone know of a cheaper courier service offering a reasonable level of insurance cheaper than £75.?? £75 seems a lot for a package weighing 5 KG.

Try DHL. They have an online quote system.

Shipping rates are getting outrageous from US to Europe. I had two quotes; one from UPS, one from FEDEX. Both quotes were around $360+. You can figure it out on their web sites by entering the weight, size, and value. Interestingly enough, UPS insurance was very little, like $7 for up to a value of several thousand.

Three years ago, I shipped a guitar to Germany, USPS–insured for 1K, for about $78.

Thats quite cheap really. When I sent to the USA it cost about £100!!
Anyways the buyer is gonna stand the shipping surely!! :boggle:

£75.00 is cheap compared with the likes of FedEx, UPS etc. however I recently sent a set to Australia for a lot less (£25.00) using the Royal Mail " Signed For : International" service. By splitting the set into two parcels i.e. ‘Chanter / Bag / stocks’ in one and ‘drones + stock’ in the other was able to cover them for £1000.00 (Maximum on this service is £500.00 per parcel)
