There’s a nice looking Rudall on E-bay just now, 4 days to go. 2 fine cracks in the head joint they say, 1842 but serial number not given, engraved WS on lip plate, no box
Edited to add the E-bay link - Thanks Plunk 111

See also the #4180 thread where there has been some discussion of this flute.
I’m puzzled, mind - this one has already been bid up to £2,040 from a £1,250 start - and it’s a Patent Head, which puts many folk off… yet #4180 only sold for under £1,400, had little wrong with it bar a missing foot ring and bent (but easily repaired) long keys though admittedly that old upper tenon repair (not looking a major job to re-fix) should rightly knock the value somewhat. On the other hand with this #4664, the as yet unknown-in-detail cracks, especially in a PH, could be much worse to fix. Ho hum!
It’s the engraved lip plate Jem. And maybe the double Bb…
Well, I thought the un-engraved lip-plate on 4180 was nicer, but I agree about the extra Bb touch. On the other hand (!!!
) 4664 only has hockey stick touches on the low C/C# whereas 4180 had the far preferable “claw”.
£2,650. Well, that’s reassuring re: the value of my own #4683, given this one needs fettling up. And it’s more than I paid for the much more unusual #2130 (Bb foot 10-key, in original case…).
:-! Good to see one going for something like “the right price” in the current depressed and strange market.
mmm still, an ornated R&R is not something you can see everyday. Actually I can remember just 5 or 6 ones…
I would say that the price is quite low but about right considering the poor description and the low market.
I wondering who got that… anyone over here??
