Please could someone advise me as to a retailer of cds in the states that has a good selection of Irish trad recordings.

I’d like to have buy a cd and have it posted to the NY area. All the searches I’ve done have brought up guitar stores.

Yes, Ossian USA is a good source.
Another option is, if there is a specific recording that you are interested in, you may be able to find the CD on ebay at a good price. I’ve gotten CDs of both “The Drones and the Chanters” compilations on ebay, for instance.
