Re-Priced (Lowered): FS Olwell 4pc Cocus Keyless +C body

Due to shock and outrage

I looked for my receipt and when I found it, I realized that I paid $2250 for the ensemble of the concert flute + the C body.

or I will sell these separately at:

$1900 for the flute and

$500 for the C body

Sooooooo, I’m asking $2250 (for both) which is what I paid…plus…you get it minus the 1 year+ wait.

Again, this is an amazing flute (or really, flutes!). They have been well taken care of and are simply getting no play. Plus, I’m using the money to fund my helicopter pilot education!

Indeed this is posted on Ebay. If you contact me before theres a bid, I’ll pull the bid down.

best.

I will sell the C body separately.

price: $750

Please don’t take this wrong, but why is this so expensive? One could (almost) purchase a brand-new, fully keyed blackwood flute from a well-known maker for the same price you’re asking for a keyless Olwell ($2250 without the C-body). Are they that much better? Pardon my ignorance and good luck with your sale…

Pat

I recently purchased an Olwell Pratten (blackwood), 6 months old, from a flute player in Cork. It arrived, after disappearing en route for nearly 3 weeks, on the 22nd of December. I’m very pleased with it, it’s as new, easy to play in tune, very responsive, very well made/finished. This is the first Olwell I’ve ever played and it certainly lives up to the positive reviews I’ve heard/read about. It sounds as good as a Murray and is finished off better. Brazenkaine’s asking price is fair enough I think

Thank you! Much appreciated.

you could, but it wouldn’t be an Olwell, or a cocus Olwell, or a cocus Olwell with no wait.

yep

After all it’s the player who makes the music…

Cocus is quite costly…also makes my lips itch (though I don’t think that’s why it’s costly as honey also makes my lips itch and is fairly cheap.).

Kynch is a great fellow by the way, I’d sell him a house on a handshake.

Doc

By the way Kynch. Is this a ā€œPrattenā€ or a ā€œNicholsonā€ Olwell?

Doc

Thanks for the kind words, Doc!

She’s a Pratten.

Now…where me helicopter!!!

Kinch PĆ”draig O’Kane

and now it’s sold.

IT’S NOT SOLD!

According to your eBay link, it is. The auction was completed by 1 bidder, with a Buy It Now purchase at $2,250.

ooooooooooooooooooooooo?

A buyer with private feedback, too. Hopefully it turns out to be someone we all know.

When you changed it to BIN, did you require Immediate Payment?

It’s sold!

 well, congratulations then

thank me when the money is received!

Not to beat a dead Smurf but did anyone notice
the keyless blackwood Olwell that went on eBay back in November
for EU1870/US 2700?

Brazenkaine’s cocus flute combo was a BARGAIN by those standards.
May be just a bad exchange rate for the dollar but…:frowning:

It must be hard on younger musicians to consider purchasing a top instrument.
Pipes and concertinas are even worse. Glad I’m an old fart and can’t play worth a darn.
Wonder what a good set of bones goes for these days?
