Carmel Gunning Director.

While I have not personally attended Carmel’s school, I had the great pleasure of taking part in a session she led during the South Sligo Summer School in Tubbercurry. From that experience I can tell you that she is a superb whistler and a great woman. I have little doubt she is also a great teacher. She also has a fantastic CD.
Carmel, if you’re reading this, thanks for the session and all the best to you.

I attended a Summer School with Carmel last year. A very worthwhile week:-)
Carmel has a wonderful touch and anyone wanting to learn the Sligo style of whistling could do no better.

Dave.

To Chris McLaughlin and Dave Auty. Thank you for your kind comments and hope you both are keeping well. Hopefully you will enrol at a later date in Queen Maeve Summer School Sligo Town which is held every year in the month of August. Thanks again Carmel Gunning.

I wish I had a fairy godmother, or even a magic broom so I could fly there…Sigh…

On the web site for the school Olivia McTernan is listed as the whistle teacher and Carmel Gunning as the singing teacher.

Carmel,
I have sent several emails to the address for your summer school requesting information and registration forms. The responses have all been “send a self addressed stamped envelope”
What about prospective students who live outside of Ireland? I can only send you an envelope with Canadian stamps on it - not much use for you to mail anything to me from Ireland.I also need accomodation nformation - or advice on where to get this information. Hopefully, you will see this and email me.
Thanks, from Susan & Paul Hammer

I wish I could go anywhere that somebody could teach me how to play this thing.

I sound bloody awful.

To SteveK. Carmel Gunning. On my website I state that Olivia McTernan is the tinwhistle teacher and I am the singing teacher.Quite right. Even though I am the Director of The Queen Maeve Summer School I will be teaching tinwhistle for two days for one period and Traditional Singing for two days for last period of the day. I cannot teach for the full week because I have to attend to administration. For the first three days Olivia McTernan will teach tinwhistle then I will take over. For the first three days also Seamus O’Dubhthaigh will teach singing then I will take over. I CAN teach all those things but I have to have people to help me also. Hope that explains things and maybe you might enrol too. Best Wishes Carmel GunningT.T.C.T. Director.

To Telegram Sam, You are welcome to attend any of my tinwhistle classes if you are ever over in Ireland. Think about attending my Summer School in August. Best Wishes Carmel Gunning.T.T.C.T. Director.

To Whistlepeg, I am sorry if you have had a lot of bother trying to get your hand on enrolment forms for Queen Maeve Suumer School. I will be looking into the Stamp Authorities to see if I can send you an envelope with Canadian stamps. If not, through this medium perhaps you could send me your address again. Thank You. Carmel Gunning T.T.C.T. Director.
