Purchasing full set

Hi there, I am thinking of ordering a full set and was wondering if anybody has heard anything about Hevia pipes from Spain. I would really appreciate any info especially from anybody who has played one of their sets. I am also considering ordering from Seth Gallagher. Any ideas gratefully accepted.

I know several people who will strongly recommend Seth Gallagher. I do not know anything about Hevia pipes though.

Never heard of the other fella, but I think it is probably common opinion that you cannot go wrong ordering from Seth Gallagher.

I hope I can help. I have played a half set of the a fella who is starting out on the piping raod has. They are really impressive. The chanter is liovely the drones were the right tone and loudness. The main thing is that they were excellently made, as good as any maker I would say. Can say anything about regs as I haven’t seen a full set. Apparently they can have a half set to you in a month and a full set in six. Not one of the best known makers but have a really good reputaion in other areas of instrument making. They are only making pipes a while as far as I know so might become better known with time. I reckon they would be as good a bet as lots of makers with a lot less wait. I agree with above though I am certainly a Seth fan (haven’t played a Seth of Gallaghers but have heard them and all the raves as well)
It’s a bit of a mine field…I feel your pain!!!

What pitch do you want to order? Hevia makes great pipes!.

I’ll echo the comments of Douglas & Joseph – you cannot go wrong with a set of Gallagher pipes.

Stay tuned,

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback it seems that Seth Gallagher is a really well respected maker. I am hoping to order a set in D and the exchange rate is not my best friend so all advice is gratefully accepted.
