Paddy Carty / Conor Tully?

Is there any way at all to acquire a copy of their CD?

Is it called “Traditional Irish Music?” Just flute and banjo?

If that’s the one, you can download it from www.emusic.com for free on a trial membership basis.

The banjo record is the 70s Shanachie LP, with Joe Burke on banjo. No, not that Joe Burke.
The Paddy/Conor tape came out in '85, I think. It was just listed at The Session website. Not available anymore. I don’t think it ever came out on CD, although I’ve made my own copy. Both records are called “Traditional Music of Ireland.” If it looks like a horse…

Looks like it has some great tunes on it… Sigh.

Ummm. the banjo player is Mick O’Connor. Available on CD. The one with Conor Tully (fiddle) has only been available on cassette.

I have the one with O’Connor, which I got from Emusic a few months ago. Great stuff, even though it sounds like it was recorded in 1911

I would kill to get a decent copy of the recording with Conor Tully. I only have a copy of a copy of a copy on an old cassette. For me this album is just one of the most beautiful recordings ever. And there’s a very tasty and subtle mandola backing on it too (Frank Hogan). Much better than the other Carty recording mentioned.

Should we send a plea for a re-release to Gael Linn? Or was it another label?

The subject has been up so many times archive search (which was quicker than digging the tape out) :

Paddy Carty, Conor Tully and Frank Hogan. - Traditional Music of Ireland. -Trad HHC 002 released through GTD Heritage Recording Co., Ballybane industrial Estate Galway

There is some GOOD Man who can post all the records by Paddy Carty with their relative tunes? I still make a lot of confusion with those…
