Oz Makers to Avoid

I have been looking into buying my first set of pipes. I have been told of some really good makers here in Australia but I have been reading on this site (see threads) that there are also some to avoid (unfortunately no names were mentioned)…

As I am potentially going to be spending a lot of my hard earned cash I would be interested in hearing from anyone who can tell me who in their opinion I should probably consider avoiding in Australia. If anyone can help please private message me with their thoughts.

This seems a backward way to go about it, unless you know the people offering these warnings awfully well. The same would hold true for the converse as well, but…Ian Mackenzie, you won’t be sorry.

I had already sussed out the good makers so I thought I should also find out about the more dubious makers out there.
Ian MacKenzie’s name has come up quite a few times as an excellent maker so I’m definitely leaning that way.

Mackenzie’s yer only man in that neck of the woods. I honestly haven’t seen any other makers work from the land of Oz but Ian made me a chanter a few years back and its bang on
