O'Grady Full Set Cocobolo for Sale

I am selling my O’ Grady full set. I will probably be going to a half set somewhere down the line but this beast is too complicated for me right now.

I spoke with Neil today on the phone (as always, one of the nicest and most helpful people). He said that his full sets run $4000 at present with an estimated 4-6 month wait. My set was built in 2003. I ran into some problems with seals and the entire set was reworked by BC Childress in 2005. So you could say that this is the only O’Grady/Childress hybrid

I am asking $4000 plus shipping/insurance. You are welcome to stop by to pick up or check them out if you are ever in Fort Wayne, Indiana. With the extra work and the great care I have done for them they are worth this. Plus you don’t have the wait for another set.

It includes two sets of reeds (synthetic) for drones, chanter reeds and regulator reeds. There is no case. (I will be keeping my air-tight Pelican for the next set)

I have to play them one more time in the end of October and then I can ship them out.

Any questions would be welcom. I will take some pictures tonight, please if you want a specific picture let me know and I’ll accommodate.

Blesings,

Matthew

Wow!! two pipers in the fort wayne area. Will wonders never cease! May have to bring my pipes when I go there on travel for work

Yeah, Bill is awesome! He helps with a group that meets on Sundays. I used to go to try and learn by osmosis but now that I’m actually in Fort Wayne, I haven’t even made one session!!! I only work one day a week and that is on Sunday  haha, so it is tough to get there!

Here are pictures for anyone interested. Questions and comments are welcome!

I’ve had one bite but then the poor guy’s car got stolen and there goes his pipe money.

Are there any pointers out there from those of you have sold pipes in the past? I have them posted on uilleanobsession in the classifieds. Any wisdom would be great!

You should add some photos of the entire set instead of just the components. Also, a few soundfiles (of chanter, drones and regs individually and of the entire set being played together) would greatly help any prospective buyer.
