Sherman! Sherman! Come here boy! Roll over boy!
Poor Sherman! I think he needs a nap and the promise of a cookie and a glass of milk. . .
In the late '80’s I had much more money than good sense and bought my full set of pipes as well as my Copeland whistle. If he had been making solid silver whistles then I certainly would have gotten one. I regret not having gotten a flute from Mike as well, but I was given to understand (probably erroneously) that he had pretty much gone on to whistles. . .
BenHall, I am extremely jealous of your low D
Bob
It’s a beautiful instrument all right. Lovely thing. Amazingly responsive. Plus, it’s the only low D whistle I’ve come across with such a wide range of both tone and volume possible. I don’t really see how it does it. You can get quite loud on the bottom end without much noticeable effect on the pitch and without breaking into the second octave. OTOH, you can play in the second octave quite softly if you want. I don’t know how you do these things on this whistle - you just seem to have to think of it and it does it.
I did not know about the silver whistles myself back then … I do have the Copeland flute though.
