Any of you go to the aforementioned festival in Nova Scotia? I’d just like to know if whistlers are welcome or if it’s all flute all the time.

Can’t beat around the bush. Gotta just outright ask them boxwood types, otherwise they’ll just hedge around. 
It really is for flutes. You wouldn’t get much out of the classes if you had just a whistle, and it’s not focused solely on Irish music either. It’s a school for flute players; they do have concerts at the end and you might enjoy that, but the instruction is all geared to the flute.
