I’m interested in purchasing a Burke Composite A. If you have one that doesn’t get played too often or the idea of selling yours could push you over the edge toward another whistle purchase , please PM me.
Kindest regards,
Scott

Good choice! My Burke comp A is my favorite whistle. I hope you can locate one in the used market.
Will you PLEASE stop saying that!!! I’m like this close…
Blackhawk, since you’ve brought it up, what do you like about the composite Burke? How do you see/hear them differing from the brass ones?
It just sounds so…flute-like to me. It has an airy, windy sound that I love. I also have Burkes in Bb & D, and have played low D, F, G, and soprano C, in aluminum and brass, so I like those, too. But this comp A just has such a gorgeous tone to it, more of a low whistle sound than a high one. I had a Burke A aluminum once, but I don’t remember it sounding this good. But maybe that’s just me.
I have a Bruke composite A, but I won’t sell it…
With all the positive comments/experiences concerning the Burke comp. A, I really didn’t expect anyone to be too interested in selling, BUT if it makes the deal any sweeter, I can offer a Sindt D (brass) that is brand new (unplayed) as a partial trade.

I think the composite Burke A is markedly more wonderful than the aluminum (which is fairly wonderful in and of itself).
There is something complex and interesting in the tone that I don’t find in the aluminum.
I sold one a few weeks ago that was as nice a thing as I’ve played and have been kicking myself (danged pipes!).

I came very near buying it, just as a spare in case anything happened to my beloved first one.
Well, I’m a newbie and as such I suppose my advice is as useful as a solar powered flashlight. I just bought a Burke composite A. I love the sound, but I find it hard to finger. I’m trying to use the regular fingering as opposed to the piper grip. I’ve got a tendonitis problem, that doesn’t help. I recently bought a Burke Viper low D, now I will forever wonder if I should have bought the Burke composite low D.
