Jerry Freeman tweaked whistles

I have in my hot little hands 5 Jerry Freeman tweaked whistles, a Shaw, a Generation, a Feadog, a Sweetone and a Walton’s Mellow…wow! Except for the Mellow D, I have had experience with all of these whistles in their untweaked state as well, so I have a good comparison point.

My initial impressions are entirely favorable, and I’m in awe with how much tweaking Jerry’s able to do to a whistle (especially this Waltons!) and not only not destroy them, but actually improve them. It’s a skill I’ll never have…having tweaked probably a dozen whistles to death over the years.

I’ll start posting reviews in a couple of weeks.

I also admire those who can pick up a terrible sounding whistle and tweak them into singing beautifully. While I consider myself fairly good with my hands, my two attempts at tweaking whistles resulted in a stone cold dead Feadog and a mutilated Walton. I don’t know how Jerry does it but I plan to find out soon. Perhaps a Jerry tweaked Shaw ……

i’ve tried out generations, waltons, clarke originals, shaws, overtons, chieftains, howards, shaws, susatos.
and i bought some burkes, i liked them best, but…
the only whistle i’ve played for the last month is a “tweaked sweetone by Jerry”
