I just wanted to start a thread to see if any of you will be attending. It’s July 11 - 17 in East Durham, NY. (www.east-durham.org).
Should we set a time and place to meet, for those of us from the board who’d like to get acquainted? I’ll leave it up to someone else who’s familiar with the place to make a suggestion, since I’ve never been to East Durham.
I’ll be there, taking Concertina and now Button Accordion.
Where is everyone staying? I and a friend of mine are coming up for the week and staying at Erin’s Melody. Cara, where will you be at?
Maybe we can all choose a Chiff and Fipple secret hand sign that we can use to identify ourselves at festivals. Then we can all sneak into a corner of a pub and argue about politics for a week.
I’ll be there! Taking intermediate flute, and basic uilleann pipes. This is going to be so great! I was there last year for the first time, and I learned so much, and had so much fun!

I will be on my own at the Shamrock House-- motel building, I think! They’ll tell me when I check in.
So it’s great to know I’ll be able to socialize a bit with some of you. Kelly, we can practice flute together, and Caj, I can’t wait to hear your concertina. And of course it would make my summer to meet you, Jesse, and see the baby and Dan. Um, and maybe play some of your flutes.
I’m taking am flute and pm voice. What’s usually happening on Sunday evening? Is everybody setting up camp or something? Would it be better to try for a weekday moot?
I’ll be getting in Sunday the 11th late in the afternoon, and I’ll be staying through the following Sunday. Do you think you’ll be visiting the 17th and 18th? I’ll leave time open for whatever is best for you.
I’m staying at Weldon House, right across the street from you,Caj.
My mom suggests we use the “I’ll be seeing you” gesture from “The Prisoner” as our secret hand signal  .

I’ve never heard of this event. Can you guys tell me about it?? What does it consist of?? Some of you are talking about taking flute and voice…lesson??
Blayne (Whistle and Drum), my son Forrest and I will be there. It’s going to be some serious fun. Hope to see you there Cara along with the rest of the C&Fers.
P.S. - we’re staying at Erin’s Melody. I have no I idea where it is. I just got it from a recommendation from a board member.
Erin’s Melody is about right in the middle of things. Art classes are taught in the nearby Weldon house; it’s a relatively short walk to the field where the concerts are.
We probably be arriving on early Sunday afternoon, probably leaving the Saturday after. If you’re there for the week, you’ll have lots of time to hang out and swap tunes; we could even arrange an impromptu chiff session.
I will be going again this year and I am really looking forward to it. Iwill be staying at the Shamrock house, so Cara I am sure we will get a chance to meet and play a few tunes. If there is plan for a general C&F gathering there… count me in!
If you are going to be in the same morning flute class, with a hangover, I am afraid you will be the one required to hold nothing against me. I am really not answerable for my flute playing before the hour of noon.
