How long does it take to receive a Burke Whistle

Hi, how long does it normally take to receive a Burke Whistle from the Burke Whistle company? I ordered it on December 26th. Also, can you use clarinet cork grease to grease the Burke Whistle tuning slide?

I’m waiting for my new Burke Narrow Bore Brass D whistle! Though I still have my Susatos and my Generation, Clarke, and Feadog whistles.

Take a deep breath and think the obvious for a minute : It’s christmas, they may not be there at all until next week.

Be patient.

Of course, I was just asking in general how long it normally takes. I’m not always patient haha.

It took me about 6 days from the day I placed the order. Burke is in Illinois and I am in Virginia so that’s only 12 hours by truck across the farmlands and over the mountains. It was also during the quiet time of the year. Yours will take a little longer due to Christmas. Hopefully, there won’t be a nor’easter which tends to slow shipments down a few days.

I use a small amount of recorder cork grease.

Hello there!
And happy new year

Mine it took 2 days to be shipped from the day I placed my order..

As the guys said, it’s Christmas + New Year…
Just be patient sir!

And I use cork grease for the slide
+
Diving silicone grease for the o-rings

And congrats on the new instrument

Thank you! I look forward to receiving it.

I have to say though I am a little worried as I noticed today on the Burke Whistle website that they are going on vacation for a month. I ordered my Whistle on December 26th and I noticed my credit card has already been charged, so I’m hoping it ships soon. I have contacted Micheal Burke about the status of my order.

Got a quick response from Michael! My whistle will be here tomorrow.

Excellent!! You will really enjoy the Burke.

Received my Burke D Brass Narrow Bore. Just to confirm it is the right whistle, the markings on the back of the mouthpiece show DBN. Is this indeed, a D Brass Narrow Bore based on those markings? See link below for picture.

DBN=Key of D, made of **B**rass, with a **N**arrow Bore.

Best wishes.

Two questions I have.

How often should I clean the Whistle head/mouthpiece with the soap solution Michael Burke mentions? Today I just did the suck out the mouthpiece approach and also the blow through covering the air window in the mouthpiece approach.

Second, should I grease the tuning slide today after just receiving it or has it been greased? I have some cork grease.
