I have a relatively new bag (last fall) I use as practice set. I’ve filled it with-out the chanter and squeezed tight. The air escapes. My question is to season or not? How to locate leak? Seems slight, but my other bag holds great and plays easier. Thanks for any help. Cheers.

dont use ghb seasoning
is it an L&M?
I use Silseal on the cow bags that I make, the one I have now has been airtight for about a year.
Its very clean and can be renewed if required.
You should be able to hear the leak, get someone else to put their ear close while you squeeze the bag.
I have always found that the most likely place for a leak was the chanter stock because of the welts.

I’ve contacted the maker of the bag, will see what he suggests. Thanks for the help as always.
Sent the bag back to CJ Dixon…he took it back and replaced it as is his guarantee with the warrenty. He’s is a great fellow to deal with…highly recommended imo
It’s okay to use ‘airtight’ the seasoning used on Highland pipes, I have been making and supplying pipe bags for years
and season my own pipes with airtight, works perfectly as long as you don’t ‘over’ season it. Make sure you rub the seasoning
around the stitching and the stocks as that is the most likely of places the bag will leak air.
