I received a Hoover HD, and a Howard LD in the mail today. Both fine whistles. I thought the Hoover was going to be a quiet one. But this little two piece sounds very close to my tweaked Walton. Right on tune and with it self. The Howard low D is easy to blow and the pipers grip fits it just fine. It is also right on tune and with it self. I d’ont know if I will ever collect all the whistles of one brand, but for right now I am working on one of each brand. The count so far is nine. This may have come up in past threads but the numbers could have changed. So, how many brands of whistles do you have?
I have one brand (Shaw), a no-name clear plastic whistle, and a couple bamboo flutes.
I no longer have WhOA.
I do have stock piles of Prozac, though.
nine
(Wriiting this as if it were next week.)
I now have 15 brands, and have had 3 others.
The ones I have now are (in alphabetical order):
Bleazey (1), Burke (2), Busman (2), Choroi (1), Clarke (1), Freeman/Generation (1), Hoover (6), Hoover/Feadog (1), Hoover/Oak (1), Humphrey (1), Jubilee (1), Serpent (1), Sindt (1), Syn (1), Walton (1)
I have also owned a Dixon, a Freeman/Shaw, and an unidentified whistle.
I do not have WhOA, but I do feel that it is my duty to be able to take part in discussions about as many models as possible, in order to maximize my usefulness to other Chiffers.
As you can see, this means that I still have quite a ways to go. In particular, I still haven’t gotten around to acquiring whistles in copper or silver.
Of course, I may not keep all of the ones I have now.
Eight is enough
Chieftain, Clarke, Elfsong, Generation, Hoover, Susato, Syn, Walton

Iv’e only got 6…Clarke,Overton,Kerry,Susato,Freeman tweaked,and Walton

(Busman (1+1 on the way), Greenwood (2), Thin Weasel (1), Laughing (1), Chieftain (3), Hoover (1), Harper (1), Dixon (2), Parkhurst (1), Clarkes (2), Generation (1), just sold the Alba
Eleven, I think…
Copeland, Burke, Generation/Freeman, Overton (Bernard), untweaked Generation, Sweetone, Oak, Shaw, Hoover, Clarke, Sweet.
And I’m waiting for a Tully.
But I just entered dangerous ground… my first flute should arrive soon. And then what!
I like having the different ones for different situations (late night practice vs. solo performance) but the only ones I’m playing consistently are Copeland, Burke, and my Jerry-tweaked Generation.

Once I was in guitar center and when the guy took down the tray of picks I said ‘I’ll have one of each please.’
LOL!
lets see: Overton, Sindt, Humphrey, Alba, Susato, Laughing, Reyburn, Clark, Waltons, Feadog, Generation, Oak… 12.
Abell, Alba, Burke, Busman, Clare, Generation, Bleazey, Swayne, Susato, Harper, Thin Weasel, Water Weasel, Copeland, Weltmeister, Wilson, Syn, Walton’s, Serpent
I think that’s about 19. I’ll be trimming a few out soon, though.
Generation, 3 old, two new… don’t care for the new, love the old (+ a few just bought - will have to see how they are)
Susato, 1
O’Brien, full set
Walton’s 2
Howard Low D
Clark… gave those two away to a friend
Just got my Jerry Tweeked Mellow Dog - that I LOVE!
MacHaffie D
And test driving a Serpent Brassy Singer
Oh yeah… and two Tipple PVC flutes, and an antique blackwood eight hole flute.
Why?
Lunasa plays Sausatos.
Which is not to imply that’s the reason Bloomfield has one. I’m just saying.
I used to have a Susato (or five). If you covered my eyes and played the scales on my Susatos and a r*****er, I’m really not sure I could tell the difference.
Uhhh, I just have one. (Walton’s D) I bought it a year ago in Ireland while on vacation there and have played it every day since. I’ve been sorely tempted to get another, (several actualy) but I guess I’m just a one whistle guy…at least until this one breaks (might not be long…I’ve already folded this one twice).
There are benefits to having just one whistle, as long as it’s a good one. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
P.S., post more.
Overton 6, Bleazey 5, O’Riordan 2, Syn 2, Greenwood 2, Hoover 1, Weston 1.
Just added Alba 1.
Other than the whistles that I make, I dont’ have a huge collection of other brands.
Faedogh High-D - purchased in Cork Ireland.
Clark’s Woodstock High-D - purchased at local Tractor Supply store.
Sepent Sunsinger High-D - A gift from the maker.
