Geoff Woofe full D set F/S SOLD

Hi Guys,

Hi Everyone,

Due to financial reasons I sadly am considering selling my beautiful set of pipes made by Geoff Woofe. It is a full set of Uilleann pipes in the key of D (narrow bore). The chanter has five keys in addition to a stop key. The Drones are the most beautiful sounding D drones I have ever heard and have all the characteristic’s of a flat set of drones. The regulators were tuned last year but due to me relocating to a new climate need fine tuning.

The set was made in 2003 and had been sitting unplayed for 9 years so has had very little use. All the reeds are genuine Wooff reeds and the pipes are in absolutely immaculate condition. The chanter comes with four reeds. One of which Geoff personally fitted last year. The set is fully stamped by Geoff on every component.
The main body of the pipes is made from Madagascar Ebony with Boxwood mounts and German silver key work and metalwork. All of the tubing is hand-rolled German silver and the craftsmanship is next to none.

Geoff currently has an extremely long waiting list and this is someones chance to get a set of his pipes while beating this list.

I am open to serious offers.

Can you wait a minute while I sell my house?

I could sell someone a husband and horse…packaged deal.

Where is that dang first-born son when you need him?

That is a sharp looking set.

I think it’s a 1/2 step sharp of C#

Maybe a discount for a out of tune C# set then?

I will try to get hold of the money this weekend to purchase the pipes. If it goes wrong you may see me in next week’s edition of Crimewatch.

Gorgeous little set there. I’ve got a Mk2 3/4 set in D by Geoff and its nearly everything I’d want in a set. Flat set tone, volume and playability, and a small, light, well made, well designed instrument. The Harrington-esque drone placement might be my favourite single design feature. Everything fits together in a little packet of sorts and the bass drone loop being placed in the center of the stand of 3 drones makes tuning the tenor drone so simple. The lucky piper who gets this set will be over the moon, just be sure you know what you’re getting into!

Yes, 3/4 is nice. I was thinking of trying a D set after all those years and Geoff offered to do one up for me. What could I say? Anyhow, I collected it a year ago and I am quite pleased with it. Not quite a flat set (makes you appreciate the flat one all the more when you go back) but it suits me better than a big bore set. . Geoff put his latest insights into it so it’s really the first mark 3. And probably the last as well. Geoff thought it would be flat sets all the way from there on. I really wanted something small so I could take up a corner in my local without too much fuss so I asked for compact, no bass reg but with a voice that could be heard playing with a few others. And that’s what I got, dainty, compact and not quiet at all.

…would really enjoy hearing some sounds off it, Maestro!

Would you contact me to discuss your pipes. chl_out@yahoo.com
