Gallagher full set in B on uilleann obsession

http://www.uilleannobsession.com/classifieds.html#11

Nice :astonished:

Anyone care to lend me $8,300.

The seller has got a few details wrong. Firstly, the price of a new flat set in silver from Seth is closer to $9,950. Secondly, Seth’s waiting list is 4 years long. Also, I’m not sure if he makes B sets anymore - he only advertises C sets on his website.

Thanks PJ, I’ll add a note on this to the ad.

PD.

His e-mail address is invalid, i have tried to e-mail him and get a message saying he is not known at aol

It’s corrected now. Just refresh the page.

PD.

Now there is a B half set on Uilleann Obsession as well - a Childress / Boisvert frankenset for $2000. Is B becoming less fashonable now???

David

Yes. Didn’t you hear? Bb is the new B, which means you’re stock has never been higher  .

Hi PJ

But it means that my B half set has dropped in value too
(though what he is asking for the frankenset is about $350 more than I paid for mine).

David

…that’s the first set I ever sold to anyone and the only thing I ever sold in B. That mainstock cost a small fortune…what a lovely piece of boxwood. Sounds like the tenor drone just needs to have the bore re-reamed / widened slightly to sharpen the note. A new reed might solve it just as quickly though.

Chad is a right fine fellow and you can trust him. All the descriptions seem accurate to me.

cheers

Gallagher is not making sets in B anymore (hasn’t been for some time).

I had the opportunity of playing a Childress B set at the Pipers Gathering in 2006. I was quite impressed both with the sound and the look.

The Taylor pipes were sold within a week for a whacking $16,000! PHew, there are some obsessed pipers out there…

I believe the Taylor set was for sale for about a year but only posted on uilleannobsession for a week or so before being sold. Obviously D’Arcy’s website is the place to advertise your pipes if you want them to sell.
