About as much as your non original humor…
JES ye have shewn in past postings to me that ye have indeed nae sense o humour whatsoever.
Ye were in fact quite rude if’n I remember one o them rightly when ye likened me to a Canadian.
That was also I think quite rude to the Canadians.
If’n ye post meaningless messages or shall I be kind and say Esoteric ones then whit do ye expect??
Ye know whit I, have decided I don’t like ye at all.
I will stay awa frae yer postings ,not that that will be too hard to do, and ye stay awa frae mine…deal?

Speaking of Humor
I’ve been working on The Humours of Ballyloughlin
and it got me wondering, in Irish music what are humours?
They’re those baggy bits of skin on your elbows. Billy Connolly knows what they’re for.

The set offered here is that set. It is of African Blackwood mounted in imitation ivory. The metalwork is stainless steel with keywork in silver. The regulator reeds are bronze. The bag is an L&M hide bag of Seth’s design. This set is essentially unique; Seth made only a very few sets with stainless steel mounts.
Stainless Steel is unusual, as Seth offers only brass or nickel/sterling silver options on his website.
The chanter doesn’t seem to be keyed (at least no keys are visible in the photos) and the chanter top isn’t wooden (standard with his silver sets). The chanter also seems to be the old style. Seth altered his exterior design of his chanters in 2004 or maybe 2005, so it would appear to be older than that.
At $8,750 it is $50 cheaper than a new brass set or about $1200 cheaper than a new silver set, without the 4 year wait. I’ve played a 3 or 4 D chanters and 2 B chanter by Seth. They were all well made and I liked the sound of them. I’ve never tried a Seth C chanter but read that he modeled his C design on David Quinn’s C chanter.
Seth used stainless steel for about a year or so but discontinued it as an option.

Seth, who just went through arthroscopic surgery on his knee, used stainless but stopped because apparently it’s extremely difficult to work with. This is a nice price for what is no doubt a lovely set as Seth’s C gear is top shelf.
There’s a Gallagher C full set on Uilleannobsession. Brass, 2 keys on the chanter, wooden chanter top - $8,275.
I thought it was based on an old Coyne design…but I could be mistaken.
One of our number here in Utah has a lovely full set in C ad another has a full set in D, I’ve got a practice set in D. All are slightly different in their tone and temperament, but the workmanship is superb throughout. Seth might cut you a deal on his prices or try to speed up his lead times…but the trick is this: Bribe the man with waffles and ice cream. Trust us - it works!
Yes, Seth offered SS briefly, during 2002-03 if my memory serves me. He made about 5 half sets with stainless, but due to difficulty using stainless, he did stop offering the option. I believe that about 4 of the 5 sets were completed with nickel silver, and only one was completed (full set) with stainless with a fully keyed chanter, wooden chanter top with SS stop key. I know this because I own that fifth set. The the chanter and reg keys are tear drop style, which is different from Seth’s typical keys. I believe that recently (within the last year or so), someone may have convinced or motivated Seth to make another full SS set (D or C?). I have no idea what premium cost was, but Seth apparently had a small inventory of raw materials still left over from the 2002-03 SS period.

Huh? What did I do this time? Honest, I’m innocent I tell ya, I’m innocent…
Joseph,

One of our club members has a Gallagher C set and if I had additional cash, I would buy it. Sounds great and easy to play

I am quilty of so many things that I hardly know where to begin… as such, I am always a bit nervous.
Anyway, my response was more of a lark than anything else and, yes, we’ll certainly not pursue any “old digressions”.
