Hi all, I´m selling this flute on behalf of a costumer.
It´s a Hammy Hamilton in the key of E flat, made over 20 years ago. African blackwood, 6 silver keys with double springs (a deluxe feature that provide a nice snappy key action), beautifully made.
The crack on the head joint (that doesn´t pass through the blow hole) is fixed and almost invisible, and the hairline crack on the right hand section socket has been pinned and is also invisible. Overall, the flute looks like new.
The pads make a little clicking noise when the keys are pressed, but other than that they are perfectly airtight. If you know that the noise will bother you, I can replace the pads for an extra 60 euros.
The flute plays great. Roaring strong tone, very responsive (also thanks to the squarish blow hole), solid in both octaves with a honking low D. The size of the tone holes is large but not huge, which makes it is much more comfortable than Hammy´s flutes in D. The perfect flute for the increasingly popular Irish sessions in E flat.
Comes with a big sturdy case.
Today Hammy´s price for 6 keyed flutes is 3290 euros, plus a waiting list of about 2 years.
Keep in mind that, even though this in an older flute, at the time it was built Hammy already had well over 10 years of experience in flute making. This is a top quality flute and very fun to play.
We are open to sensible offers. The flute will be shipped from Germany.
