I am selling my half set of pipes pitched in B made by Brad Angus, plus a Rogge chanter also in B, and a pair of Kelleher bellows.
The set is made from ebony and brass with boxwood mounts.
The Angus chanter is fully keyed with a stop key. It has been recently reeded by Joe Kennedy. Joe did an amazing job with it and went over it top to bottom to get it playing up to his standards. It is a gorgeous sounding chanter, and plays very easily. It has that classic old look and sound and the tone colours available with different fingerings are wonderful. It is a real joy to play and I am only selling it because I have a new set on the way from Joe.
The keyless Rogge chanter is in fine shape and exactly what you would expect from Andreas’ shop. Immaculately made, plays flawlessly and is perfectly in tune. A great, solid B chanter.
The main stock on the set is hollow ebony (crack free), and the drones are playing fine with Michael Hubbert wooden body/tongue reeds. The set is airtight with a new Kelleher bag.
I would like to sell this as a bundle, as I think it’s a great opportunity to get to try both styles of chanter. I have used both chanters in different scenarios and they really are quite different in style and voice. I will split it up and sell individually if there is no interest in the complete kit.
It is set up for the Kelleher bellows but I will include all the fittings for the smaller Angus stitched bellows as well. I will also include a custom hardshell flight case if you’d like, but this might add significantly to shipping costs. Happy to ship anywhere, or you are welcome to come pick it up here in Winnipeg. Bring a parka.
This whole kit would be around $7000 USD new, not including the flight case. Asking $5,500 USD for the whole lot.
