Hi again All,
also posted in the exchange: https://forums.chiffandfipple.com/t/fs-beautiful-weymann-tenor-banjo-with-wooden-pot-sold/77431/1 Reposted here for questions etc.
Next item in the raise money to try to get to Germany and then Scotland and Ireland for some research project: a beautiful 19 fret Weymann tenor banjo from 1915-20s. Check the pictures, but this is a really fine instrument. Beautiful full sound off it. Solid wooden pot, which the bolts go through, lovely inlay and veneering, birds eye maple etc. etc. Very nice hardwood armrest. Comes complete with original hard case and also accessories, which include its bolt key, a screwdriver (for the pegs I suppose), and a very nice little mute that makes it sound like a tenor guitar. The resonator is very nice as it slips on and off, making it very easy to leave in the case or bring out depending on when you play it. Mick Moloney was impressed by this banjo (disc. he’s a friend of mine). Asking $1250 (price drop) plus shipping, but I’m leaving at the end of the month, so as with the bodhrans I’m also selling on here (and elsewhere), do, by all means, make an offer.
Best,
B
