I was the first person to take delivery of one of these instruments. Its a great flute, I’ve since moved on to several higher end wooden instruments and just don’t anticipate playing this one much. In my opinion, this one compares favorably with many wooden instrument twice its price.
From M&E, this instrument new would be $450.00 plus shipping:
$325.00 - Keyless flute in D
$ 60.00 - Metal rings
$ 15.00 - Soft case
$ 50.00 - Rudall-Rose style
I’m selling mine for $400.00 including ground shipping to USA.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions about the instrument.
No, I sold the Hammy to a friend, Elaine, she brings it to the sessions now and then so I get to visit it. I tease her now and then to sell it back to me. Its a beast of an instrument as you know, just too physically huge for my hands, was causing me pain.
My main and hopefully final instrument has been a McGee Rudall-Carte 4-key, which I’ve had for nearly a year. Fits me like a glove and is almost as loud as the Hammy.
I’m also having Hammy build me a headjoint for my restored 8-key Metzler, that should be an awesome combination when its done in a year or so. The original headjoint is really better setup for A=453 or so, although it does play adequately at A=440 with the slide out about 3/4 of an inch. I think it will really sing with a properly matched headjoint for concert pitch.
