There 's a Dave Williams keyless flute for sale on done deal. Dave made some fine flutes.

No price indicated ? I have a Dave Williams flute - doesn’t look at all like that one. I have also wondered, how many flutes did Dave Williams make ?
I have a friend who has a Dave Williams keyless and a keyed one, so there are at least 4. I think Dave sold some flutes through Lark in the Morning back in the day, so it could be more than we know.

Mine’s keyed. The barrel is similar. The holes on mine are larger, rings are different, and the foot joint is separate.
I have a four key Williams flute made in 1982. It has wider rings than the done deal flute, salt spoon keys in wooden key blocks, separate right and left hand sections, and a separate foot joint. I bought it new and paid £120 if I remember correctly. It’s a very good flute.
Nial Keegan also plays a Dave Williams flute with pinned keys:

Mine is about the same, except is a 5-key, Rudall-style. There is a photo of a sold 5-key Pratten on McNeela’s site:

I have a Dave Williams five-key, Pratten, post-mounted keys. I think it’s Cocus, but not sure. Bought it from Lark In the Morning at their (long gone) Seattle store. I think there were two Williams in the store at the time.
I have a Dave Williams flute, 3 piece blackwood, unlined headjoint, short footjoint, 4 silver keys. I bought it at auction in 2019. The previous owner bought it new in the 80s, I believe, from Hobgoblin in Crawley, Sussex.
I have a price list from Dave, Sept 1979 :
Standard flute w nickel silver or imitation ivory rings : £80
Flute w lined headjoint & tuning slide & adjustable stopper: £115
Silver rings £10 extra
Nickel silver or brass keys £13.50 each
Sterling silver keys £16.50 - £27.50 each
A full set of pipes £593.25
That price list is cool…and so cheap!

Yes, I bought a 3/4 D set of pipes with a tenor regulator for £480 from Dave in 1980.
