Anyone need a really big flute?

Makes you wonder what the guy is over-compensating for…

well it does say FANTASTY flute

For the lack of really big bamboo flutes in the market?

I called them and asked about it. He says that surprisingly it doesn’t take much air to play at all.

This thread title sounds like a targeted version of most of the spam that I get by email.

Also says it has only 4 finger holes. Hmmm.

Thanks VB. Apollos Axes is a very cool site. I went off on a tangent when I saw they were selling Violas de Caipira. So I found another cool site,

This is the translated page of Kuarup.com. Full of streaming clips of Brazilian regional music which played instantly on my Mac.. I think I may have to take up the viola de caipira.

That’s not big.

This is:

Fipple to End = 4 foot unfolded.
I think I’ll make a Flute Headjoint for my basswhistle.

Sound clip! Sound clip!
What size is that pipe anyway?

1.6 inch inside diameter bore. About three foot long, 4 foot if unfolded.
And yes, it has 6 holes. Six large holes!

Small sound clip: http://jubileeinstruments.messianic-webhosting.com/bwii-snd.wav

I dub it “Sewerphone”

That’s a pretty big bore. How does it blow?

With your lips tight and watch the teeth.

Well, it take more air than a Low-D but not terribly much more.
For me it’s not too bad, but I used to play trumpet and have a lot of wind. (uh, oh, hear come the puns).
