Bar a Patent Head, extra Bb touch and the serial no., this could almost be my own flute, it looks so similar: it’s only a couple of hundred or so later than mine…
Nice! Nice price too! I think that’s a very very fair Buy it Now offer - bang on for proper value of such a flute. I hope it finds a good home with a player, not a non-playing collector.
Looks just like my Fentum, I bet there is a I.N under the C# key.
Yup, I was thinking the same thing.
As I said, the whole flute is very reminiscent of mine, though I now notice that despite the especially close similarity of the keys, mine has “claw” foot C/C# touches, not “hockey sticks” like this one - but otherwise the shafts of those keys are near-enough identical - down to the cut-away for the Eb key’s cup in the shank of the C# lever… FWIW, only my Bb and G# keys have stamps, what appears to be a “JR” with the two letters elided to share a common main “leg”.
Anyone want to ask the Olwells what (if any) stamps are on the keys?
this same one sold eBay about 9 months ago, so nice to know someone’s put some work into it.
it had been owned by a family in Wolverhampton…ironically the burial place of John Mitchell Rose.

People are understandably careful about spending money these days. Did the two Olwell flutes sell, the 5 key and the 6 key that were recently offered for sale?
no one’s careful about spending money because there isn’t any money to spend!
Flutemakers have told me they are not yet hurting since orders have been on the burner for a long time and when they come up, people will do what’s necessary to pay.
I will say this: the day is coming when there will be an oversupply in respect to demand unless the economy shifts. THAT’s when you need to buy.
I got 50 bucks David, you can send me one of your choice Rudalls when ever you feel the time is right.

Beg to differ - there is money, but those that have think twice these days before splashing out large amounts, or taking a bank loan for something they would like to own, but don’t really need. 
After a quick look on the flute forum there seems to have been 15 flutes up for sale since the 1st of March up to today the 13th of March. It seems like only three have been sold according to the sellers 
On the Used instrument exchange there seems to be 6 flutes still for sale since the 1st of March. Flute recession?
Well, it doesn’t help when a used flute, however exalted, is offered for well over its original price. Yeah, I know, no wait.

Very likely the days of selling used (modern) flutes for far more than they cost originally, are just about over.
Just one more market correction that was bound to happen.
I don’t expect to see original R&R’s etc., going for the usual exorbitant prices any more either.

Prehaps - there´s a keyless Olwell up for sale for 2.000 (US - I think). Certainly a great flute, but I believe the wait for a keyless Olwell is only a year and then you get a brand new flute for what 14000-1500 USD? Maybe the price of Rudall & Rose flutes will also fall for a period, who knows?
