American Political Threads

Personally, it doesn’t bother me where these threads are posted, but, with the general elections getting closer, they do seem to be cluttering up the Whistle Board, increasingly, and some who are from other regions of the world have expressed concern that it’s hard for them to wade around all of it, and they wish it would be put in the OT: Political… and sometimes religious thread.

I agree. There are topics that are more relevent and pertain more to whistles such as biscuits and gravy. Actually if someone wanted to browse past threads for whistle info, it would be nice to be able to have the non-whistle threads deleted for that purpose. -But overall, since the topics are labeled it makes it easy enough to pick and choose the current ones that interest you. If a bunch of whistlers got together they wouldn’t just talk about whistles, so this does seem an accurate representation of the way things are in reality. -But a whistle only browse feature would be cool.

23 days or so to go. Then we’ll hear about who “stole” the election for the next four years. Oh, yeah, that already started. Bush “shredded” the election.

I’m guessing the conservatives will abide by that, but not the liberals. In ohter words, business as usual.

Shouldn’t you two be watching Fox News?

…and still, somehow the conservatives become the bad guys, while the liberals are trying to “out-conservative” the conservatives on the campaign trail.

On my personal wish list is a word limit per post. Some are just soooooo long I usually skip over most of it and hope nothing really important was hidden in the overflow of words.

sure, i can understand that the americans are all heated up now…no worries, it’ll pass. I just slalom around the the political threads.

And I don’t know what conservatives have to complain about. Most Americans have been so brainwashed by anti-socialism phobia that liberals here are more middle of the road than liberal.

Liberal. Conservative. It’s just an easy way to label someone. Don’t feel like listening to someone’s argument?? Hey, just put a label on 'em!! Made up your mind after hearing only a couple words out of someone’s mouth?? Label 'em!!

It’s easier to quickly label/stereotype/judge someone than it is to actually THINK about what they’re trying to say. Stop using your brains!!!

:moreevil:

That is true- There is alot of mindless labeling. On the other hand these labels, liberal and conservative, are somewhat relevent to the current political discussion in that they each represent, more or less, a certain agenda. It’s interesting that each word though is now used as an insult. - This seems to work well in a place where the glorification of non-thought abounds.

I think it’s interesting that a thread complaining about the amount of political threads on the board turned into a political thread within the first three posts.

Not complaining, just hoping to draw some attention to what some feel may be a more considerate option.

And I wasn’t complaining about complaining, it can be completely necessary.

But actually it was very funny the way Weekenders jumped into the thread in political mode. It was supposed to be funny, right?

last time, george bush didnt rig the election … he engineered it

Has anyone seen any michal moor films or read any of his books?
You should

John: If you post this in the Political/Religious Thread you will get many takers. We are trying to keep this type of stuff up there, per Dale’s request.

All the Best, Tom

Better yet, go to Fark.com for all your political flaming needs.

Me, too.

I don’t think religion and politics should be discussed together. I really don’t. If I had my way, there would be a “political” thread and a “religious” thread, or just let the religious threads be posted on their own.
