I know how you feel, Emm. That “Adding in the Rolls” thread is typical of the kind of thing that I find quite irritating, with all that whistle talk, people offering useful advice, and not a hint of rancor. No mention of politics, religion, or my new-found passion, philosophy. It’s just not the kind of thing that belongs on C&F. Phooey! Double phooey!!!

Of course not! And this isn’t the apology thread…that was another one. This is the snarl thread.
I believe I posted my snarls earlier today on the “OT:Philosophical And Sometimes Religious” thread. If that has gotten your ire up then I am sorry. Because it wasn’t you I was snarling at in the first place. (You’re too much of a lady for that )

Wow…all these “hope it wasn’t me” posts!
No, it’s just an idiosyncratic etiquette issue. When a whistle maker starts one of his/her few allowed threads to promote his/her business, it strikes me that that thread is not the place to weigh in with negative opinions about that person’s products. (unless he/she asked for reviews.)
I’m all for free discussion of opinions about whistles, and open reviewing, but how about posting an independent review, rather than highjacking a craftperson’s promotional thread?
edit: I’ve been chastised gently for this kind of snarl before…I think it may be a peeve that’s unique to me. I’m not trying to derail the cherished C&F uncensored, free-posting ideology. (nor do I intend to behave offensively toward the chiffers who’ve expressed the negative opinions I refer to here–they are chiffers whose opinions, I’ll add, I tend to respect.)
