So who’s(re) the guest(s) next February?
Rumor has it that the guests will be Michael Cooney and Ivan Goff, but you’ve heard none of this from me.

Well, to alleviate the asphyxiation of the cat in the bag, I can confirm that the 2014 West Coast Tionol will indeed take place.
Dates are February 14, 15 and 16. And yes, our piping instructors and guest performers will be none other that Mssrs. Cooney and Goff. We will also be joined by Fr. Ted Anderson, who will listen sympathetically as you desrcibe your worst reed and pipes maintenance nightmares.
Proceedings will move to a new (to us) venue, not far from the location of previous events. This will be in the Republic of Fremont, in Seattle, not far from the statue of Lenin and the Fremont Troll.

Kwelll. But don’t keep us hanging here, Creegan. These new digs - is it the Solid Waste Transfer Center? Google Seattle? The Purp sPot Academy for Cannabis Research, Education and Providence Services?
Getting closer in Seattle.
The workshops and concert will be held in the Doric Lodge in the Fremont area, not very far northwest of downtown.

“Registration,” eh? You should get one of those red Take-A-Number things they have at DMVs. “NUMBER 13, TOM QUINN. TOM QUINN. TOM QUINN?”
Apparently I sent $80 to “Don Rimmer” just now, so mark me down for a folding chair. My violinist friends of course couldn’t care less about all that droning, is Dale or Randal or someone going to teach fiddling at this shindig? Thanks for putting on yet another tea 'n all Tom, and BruceMichaelRodSaraEtc too.
Funny you should ask, Kevin. Yes, we can now confirm that Dale Russ will indeed be offering fiddle workshops, morning and afternoon of the Saturday.
Additionally, that great flute player from Clare, Leo MacNamara, will be teaching flute and whistle.
And, of course, besides PayPal, folks can register in advance by mailing a check or register on the day.
There is an early registration incentive, however. Register before Feb 1st and the $80 fee will include admission to the concert (otherwise $20).
I’m in. See you in February.
Anyone got any recommendations on hotels???
I am mainly interested in any beginner level pipe workshops and reedmaking. And of course the concerts. The Pipers club site shows workshops but nothing else. Anyone with more info?
Anyone seeking further information on the tionol, please feel free to contact me at :

Still time to pack the bags and head to Seattle for the 2014 West Coast Tionol.
Piping workshops with Ivan Goff and Michael Cooney.
Flute with Leo Mac Namara
Fiddle with Dale Russ
It is KILLING ME that I can’t make it this weekend! Such a fine tionol with an outstanding crew.
It’s the one, single event that got me going -and kept me going- on piping (back in the late 90s). Now you know who to blame!
I have an immovable family event.
That was, like, a totally awesome tionol. Dude! More props all around to you lot.
Terrific new venue, too. Fit the number of attendees just right. You simply must have the next group photo in front of that statue of V.I. Lenin, though. It’s about 80 feet from the front door, after all. Comrades! Solidarity! The revolution against unstable reeds is a workers’ revolution!
LOL, I guess there’s a reason it’s known as “the left coast”.
