Later C19th English 8-key simple system concert flute (My Ref #121)
stamped “B&S Dulcet Trade Mark (with a stamped Triangle & Beater) London Improved”. Some of the keys have “F” stamps on their undersides.
Cocuswood with German Silver (cupro-nickel) fittings, low C# & C keys with pewter plugs.
Overall length (excluding stopper finial) - 660mm
Sounding length – 579mm
C#-Eb length – 253mm

IMO, and as I think the clips below demonstrate, this is a lot of flute for the money.

stamped (on the barrel) "Douglas & Co. 7 South St. London EC" and (on the head) with a winged lyre logo with the German word "Schutzmarke" (= Trade Mark) beneath

This is an ideal budget-price introduction to playing a fully keyed simple system flute, whether as a beginner from scratch or for an experienced player of keyless flutes wondering about exploring the possibilities of a keyed flute but not wishing at this stage to invest in an expensive, high-end antique or modern-made example.
It plays well at A=440Hz with the tuning slide open about 18-20mm depending on ambient conditions and the player's blowing style. This is not a quiet or unresponsive flute!
