I know that there's regulator reeds made of bronze , but never hear before that chanter reed can be made of brass...anybody else know about this more.

Dave Hegarty talks about using pop cans for reed making, although again in the context of regulators. The reference is on page 60 of the PDF here:

Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

I believe the best in the business have tried making uilleann pipe chanter reeds from brass, copper, phosphor bronze, yogurt tubs, beer cans, hamster water bottles, accountant's green eye shades, toenail clippings, etc. without success. Brass reeds (and some of the aforementioned objects) seem to only work in single-octave applications such as regs. But that's about it.
